Paddock Wood Red Hammer (Old World Style Red) 12/24

Paddock Wood Red Hammer (Old World Style Red) 12/24 by Cody La Bière
Day 12! 13 more days til Xmas! The fun thing about this project is that I get to drink a beer each and every day! The bad thing about this project is lugging around my camera trying to get a good shot!

I've had Paddock Wood Red Hammer Ale before, so I know what to expect for the most part.

Appearance: A cherrywood red, slightly darker, clear, with beige head.

Aroma: Doesn't smell like Hubba Bubba gum this time - it's a sweet caramel malt that comes out first and foremost, slight straw aroma - overall, a sweet and caramel scent coming off the malt.

Taste: Lightly hopped to give it a floral yet bitter taste first off, followed by caramel. The caramel and hops are intertwining. Quite a simple red ale, but better than I remember.. really enjoy the hop presence. A bit of a raw barley taste in there as well, but that's about it.

Overall Thoughts: Very decent red ale, sweet and caramelly, followed by a mellow hoppy bitterness and a bit of notes of barley, quite simple yet tasty.
