Review: Nonsuch Field Berry Sour

Today's sampling is Nonsuch's Field Berry Sour. The sour is infused with field berries such as raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries. 5.6% ABV

Appearance: Pinkish-red body, mostly opaque with a lot of carbonation in the body and a mild amount of off-white head on top.

Aroma: The first impression I get is a good one - I get a sweet fruitiness to it, mostly raspberries and blackberries.. perhaps a bit of apple or pear juice as well. Sweeter than it is sour, so I think I might enjoy this, not being a sour fan at all.

Taste: The sourness definitely hits in the tastebuds. I can never describe the sourness most sours give me but it's a sharpness that makes me wince just a tad. There's a decent fruitiness to it with the blackberry and blueberry notes dominating and raspberry/strawberry notes pop up here and there. A tad vegetal, slight graininess and a sharp sour aftertaste that lingers for a good moment or so.

Overall Thoughts: It's a sour. Decent fruit presence from the field berries but yeah, as usual I don't know how to really review a sour. 🤷🏻‍♂️
