Cranky Friday Links - August 17, 2012

Here's this week's links!

I'm having a beer swag giveaway consisting of sweet glassware, t-shirts and other stuff from Fort Garry and Paddock Wood Breweries. If you are interested in entering the contest, check out this Link.

For some reason, in this day and age, women are perceived to only drink coolers, wine and flavoured beers such as Coors Light Iced T - that being the reason why there's a whole new reason why there's a new genre of "beers" (Beer Coolers). This is VERY wrong. The media and breweries have no clue what women truly like when it comes to beer. Apparently a woman isn't supposed to enjoy an India Pale Ale, a Belgian Tripel or a mocha stout. Hate to break it to you media and factory breweries but women are much more accepting to trying new beer than ever before, so much so - I know more women who will try a new microbrew a high ABV, intense flavour, lots of hops more than most men, at least here in Manitoba. Lynn, aka BGCanary on Twitter did a great rant about this specific subject. (Link)

Oh god, speaking of what I just said, a blogger at Canada.com is trying to re-affirm that women don't like good beer. (Link)

My review of the week, Abita Jockamo IPA out of Louisiana! (Link)

Cody's beer suggestion of the week is Hops & Robbers IPA from Double Trouble Brewing out of Toronto, it costs just under $3 before tax and worth every cent! (Review)

Half Pints is releasing two beers tomorrow, their well raved Humulus Ludicrous Double IPA, as well as Noches de los Alabrijes which is an Oaxacan dark lager, get it while it's fresh, tomorrow at the brewery. (Link)

Who should you be following on Twitter? This week I suggest you check out Stephen Ross, AKA PaddockWoodGuy, he's not only Paddock Wood's #1 fan, but he's also one of the most passionate people about beer I've ever met! (Link)
