Today's sampling is a collab between Sookrams Brewing and Tot Wheels food truck. The beer is Quarter Mile American Pale Ale. From the can it says that it's hopped with Cascade and Amarillo hops. Bright citrus and pine hop aromatics mingle with notes of toasted bread and caramel malt before a crisp, balanced finish. This collab with Tot Wheels is brewed to pair with a good burger and bring living a quarter mile at a time. 5% ABV
Appearance: Pours a light but very clear honey/amber body with a light amount of carbonation and a very thick amount of beige-hued head on top. The head diminishes decently and quickly over a couple moments, leaving behind a mild layered lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Moderately sweet with notes of caramel/honey, a bit of a fresh cut grass presence, and a mild piney bitterness from the hops - a hint of grapefruit at the end.
Taste: The beer is fairly smooth - it has a light caramel sweetness to it, a bit of a graininess, a mild grapefruit/lemon citrus zest to it, and lastly a mild pine bitterness from the hops.
Overall Thoughts: I expected this to be a bit more bitter than it was, but it's a solid American Canadian Pale Ale that's got your classic sweet malt meets floral and piney bitterness at the end, but not overly aggressive as I remember from before the Hazy phase became a thing.
