Review: Sookrams Diva Double IPA

Sookram's
Diva Double IPA

From the can: Third anniversary. Simcoe. Sabro. Cryo Idaho 7. Diva is a big hoppy West Coast style Double IPA. This double dry hopped DIPA has big hoppy flavours of citrus and pine from the Simcoe & Cryo Idaho 7 hops, and subtle coconut from the Sabro hops. 8.0% ABV

Appearance: Deep, amber-cold tea like body with a good amount of carbonation in the body and a moderate amount of beige head on top. The head diminishes gradually, leaving behind a sprinkling of bubbles on the glass.

Aroma: Sweet-forward Double IPA with fruity notes of pineapple, melon and a hint of coconut at the end. Good amount of floral notes to it and a mild piney bite to it. Hint of caramel as well.

Taste: This is a DIPA that's definitely best savoured right now - it's refreshing, sweet, floral, moderately bitter, leafy and even a bit woody. The notes of pineapple, caramel, melon and coconut come out again, while the bitterness has been amped up quite a bit for the aftertaste, leaving behind a bitter tingling sensation at the end.

Overall Thoughts: Simply delicious. Now that I can actually get Sookram's products regularly at my local Liquor Mart, I get to see a lot of products I would've missed otherwise, they're consistently one of the best breweries out there and people need to know it!
