Review: Laughing Sun I Love ND Golden Ale

Bismarck, North Dakota's Laughing Sun Brewing has a beer called "I Love ND", a Golden Ale that's described as: North Dakota from field to pint. All of the malt in our golden ale comes from Two Track Malting located just three miles down the road from the Laughing Sun Brewery in Bismarck, North Dakota. Golden color, mild hop flavor, always pleasant on the palate. A quaffable crowd pleaser! 4.0% ABV

Appearance: Pours a light hazy straw yellow with a liberal amount of carbonation in the body. The head is a moderate off-white head that has good amount of retention, even twenty minutes after taking a photo of the beer.

Aroma: This is a fairly crisp and light Golden Ale yet has a bit of a personality to it - it's moderately sweet with a bit of citrus presence to it, sweet barley, a light grassy hop presence, as well as the faintest presence of pine at the very end.

Taste: One of the first things I get from this beer is a hint of bubble gum, something I really wasn't expecting from this beer. The beer is very crisp, light yet has a decent amount of sweetness.. again - hint of lemon citrus, a light sweet grainy malt presence, and a light breadiness to it. Light amount of grassy hops and the aftertaste is a combination of lemon and a light hop bitterness.

Overall Thoughts: Light and crisp with a decent citrus presence to it. Nothing aggressive but definitely easy to drink and definitely would pair well with hot summer patio sessions.
