Review: Brasserie Nonsuch Brewing Beauty Lager

La Brasserie Nonsuch Beauty LagerToday's sampling comes out of Winnipeg - we're sampling Brasserie Nonsuch's Beauty Lager.
They state that Beauty is Canada's finest lager, also that it's smooth sippin'. I've had multiple different lagers by them over the years but this one is definitely one to try to persuade the every day vendor lager fan to try out their high quality, made-in-Manitoba lager that's more affordable than most of the the regular macro lagers in stores right now. The branding very much has a familiarity, giving off a bit of an all over classic 1970s/80s dad beer vibe to it, to the point where I was talking to one of the peeps at Nonsuch that they should put the beer in Stubbies.. which they actually did exactly that for Halloween 2025. 4.5% ABV

Appearance: Deep golden appearance with a definite opaque/haze to it, definitely not a Club but it's insanely good looking and the beer almost smiles back at me.. is that normal? There's a decent amount of carbonation going on in the body, and two finger thickness of snow white head. This is a pretty lager.

Aroma:
Sweetness from the barley malt to give it a toasted grain presence, a bit of honey sweetness, a slight grassy hoppiness to it, a bit of straw, a smidge of bubblegum, very approachable - an aroma that my parents would probably enjoy.

Taste: This starts out a bit sweet, so I'm getting a bit of a honey-like sweetness to it, followed by a bit of straw, a light but grassy hop profile. It's smooth, sweet, very easy to drink. Almost no aftertaste at the end.

Overall Thoughts: Is this Canada's Finest Lager? This is definitely one of them. This is insanely inoffensive in every way, it's a tad sweet with a honey-like sweetness, a bit grassy, and a bit of straw. One day when Manitoba Beer Cast comes back and we do our search for the Macro Lager Killer, this would definitely be in my top five.
