Review: 2 Crows Matinée Tiny Hoppy Pale Ale

Today's review is 2 Crows Brewing's Matinée Tiny Hoppy Pale Ale, a beer that tops out at an incredibly boozy 3.1% ABV / 24 IBU. It's rare to see a light beer that's going to be a bit hoppy, so this should be interesting.

Appearance: Cloudy and moderately juicy appearance. It has a lemon yellow hue to it, pretty much opaque. The head is pretty thick yet dense with a white hue to it.

Aroma: Citrusy, hoppy and a bit juicy. A good amount of lemon in this beer, followed by a hop presence that gives off a bit of floral presence, pine, and a hint of grapefruit. Bit of orange juice popping out but mostly masked by bitterness of the hops.

Taste: Fairly sweet with a tropical presence to it - notes of orange, pineapple and grapefruit pop up. Fairly floral-tasting with a bit of a pine bitterness to it. Fairly smooth, though it's quite a doughy beer. Tad bit of breakfast cereal presence to it. The mouthfeel is a bit carbonated but dry, while the aftertaste is a bit of lemon and pine.

Overall Thoughts: Surprisingly decent at only 3.1% ABV. Incredibly sessionable and full on hoppy Pale Ale with a sweet tropical juiciness to it. I hope we see more juicy low ABV beers in the near future, this tasted like it could've easily been 5.5% ABV.
