Beer of the Night - May 21, 2005

It's that time again! Time for Beer of the Night! It's been quite a while since the last Beer of the Night review. Tonight's review is Moosehead Light.

I first tried Moosehead Light in July '04, since the local beer stores had a deal that you could get 12 cans for $14 including taxes. When I first tried this beer, it seemed to have a more bitter taste than it's big brother beer Moosehead. I tried it again for the first time in almost a year, the taste is sort of a combination between Moosehead and Molson Kick, it lacks much taste, it's one of those beers that would be good for just lounging around or going to the lake with. Moosehead Light could start hitting it big in my part of Canada since the local Liquor Marts (all government-owned) are now having cases of 24 bottles of Moosehead Light in many of their stores, one of the reasons being that this weekend is May Long weekend in Canada, I doubt this light beer would ever take away much sales from pee-quality Coors Light, but it's always nice to see more products, even light beers. Even though I hear lots of "booing" towards light beer, people still drink it, some just dont want to actually *get* drunk. I've seen Moosehead Light being sold in 6 packs of Cans, 8 packs of cans, and 24 packs of bottles, I'm sure that other parts of Canada have different bottle/can combinations. If you're a fan of Moosehead and want a beer to drink at the lake, this is a good beer to try. For a LIGHT beer, it actually got me buzzed very easily, which is very rare.
