Review: Bee Boyzz Vikings' Blood Lite Mead - Blood of the Gods

Bee Boyzz Viking's Blood Light
Today I'm sampling Bee Boyzz Honey & Meadery's Vikings' Blood Lite Mead (Blood of the Gods). This Oak Bluff-based Meadery has been featured here before but I haven't reviewed any of their products in over five years, back when I was avoiding everyone by living at my parents farm in South Western Manitoba. I don't crave Mead often so it's taken me too long to review one of Bee Boyzz's products - I also see they have a decent offering at my local Safeway, and they're even selling their own Honey Dill sauce now!

Annnnnyway, here's what Bee Boyzz says about their Vikings' Blood Lite Mead: Experience the legendary flavour of our best-selling Vikings Blood in a fresh, modern way. Vikings Blood Lite delivers the same bold blend of honey, cherries, and smooth, clean finish—now crafted as a light, crushable mead in a can. Refreshing, crisp, and effortlessly drinkable, it’s the perfect balance of tradition and convenience. Enjoy the spirit of a classic, re-imagined for any adventure. 5% ABV

Appearance: Deep, clear, cherry red body with a very slight amount of carbonation to it.

Aroma: Very, very sweet. A deep smell of honey right out of the jar. There's a lot of cherries to give it a fruity sweetness, a tad tart, but very.. very sweet. Honestly, this is the type of Mead I like.

Taste: The aroma was no lie, this is incredibly sweet and sugary.. er honey-ry? There's the added cherry juiciness that gives it even more sweetness of cherries, as well as the tartness we all know from cherries. It coats my mouth a good deal, as well as leaves behind an abundance of honey sweetness for the aftertaste.

Overall Thoughts: Winter's coming.... and this will be well appreciated for a nice dessert beverage. I'm somehow still a kid at heart, so I love overly sweet things and this appeals to me. This is silky smooth, has a mildly tart yet sweet cherry presence, and of course - lots of sweet honey from right here in Manitoba, and as we all know.. Manitoba has some of the best honey in the world. So as you can tell, yes - it has been far too long since I've reviewed anything from Bee Boyzz.
