From the label: Being Zen is not a given. Some experience more difficulty relaxing and seeing life for what it really is, a long statis interspersed with short bursts of unreasonable frenzy. As do we. It's not for lack of effort though, and we strive to contribute as best we can to the zenitude of our surroundings even if it is with this beautiful wheat beer and a touch of dubious wordplay. 5% ABV
Appearance: When I was first pouring it, it was appearing a bit too clear for my liking.. but shaking it up a bit got all the good hazy bits mixed in with the rest of the beer. The beer (as it settles) has a (mostly) opaque straw yellow body to it, a tad bit of carbonation in the body and a good amount white head on top that diminishes nearly immediately leaving only small pools of bubbles on very top of the beer.
Aroma: Sweet and fruity. Notes of banana, clove, a tad yeasty.. so kind of a banana bread kind of vibe so far.
Taste: The malt at the beginning gives off a honey sweetness to it - a good amount of sweetness for sure. There's a welcoming taste of banana, notes of clove, lemon and a hefty breadiness to it. There's honestly not much else I can say about the beer - banana bread, sweet, definitely a patio beer worthy Wheat Ale.
Overall Thoughts: Absolutely solid! One of the better Wheat Ales (whether Belgian or German) I've had in a while.. but I haven't been actively searching for them either (which I should be now..)
