Non-alcoholic review: Blood Brothers Smooth Fortune Lager

Blood Brothers Smooth Fortune NA Lager
First off, I'd like to give Section 6 Brewery and Blood Brothers Brewing serious thanks for having this NA beer review to happen - Section 6 has been the biggest cheerleader for my NA journey in recent memory, and they were the very brewery that influenced me to visit the breweries that have NA beers that they sell right in the taproom.

I was in Toronto a few weeks ago and Blood Brothers came out with a new NA beer called Smooth Fortune, which is a non-alcoholic version of their regular 4.5% lager called, well.. Smooth Fortune.

Appearance: Incredibly clear, bright golden straw, a tad bit of carbonation but not much, and a light amount of snow white bubbles on top.

Aroma: Decently sweet with a slight herbal presence to it - almost like a hint of dill, slightly toasted malt, a tad bit of a grassy hop presence, and a slight graininess to it at the end.

Taste: This is incredibly smooth, definitely a tad stronger than what I remember having on tap the other day but still smooth, nonetheless. A bit of an herbal hop presence that again, has a bit of a dill-like presence to it, as well as a bit of grassiness. The lager is somewhat sweet, a tad grainy, very crisp, quite smooth and very approachable.

Overall Thoughts: Having this right on tap at the brewery vs in can - this is a very smooth, approachable lager either way but I definitely noticed more of a dill-like presence in the aroma and taste in can form, while more of a grassy hop presence on tap. This is definitely a must-drink NA lager, incredibly smooth and easy-going for the upcoming patio season (if it ever happens here in Manitoba).

Thanks Blood Bros for coming out with a smooth, easy-going NA lager that everyone will enjoy.
