Today's sampling comes out of Ottawa, I'm trying out Flora Hall Brewing's American Oat Pale Ale. A Balanced Ale brewed with oats and wheat. Soft in body with a breezy, high hop aroma and only a subtle bitterness. Amiable, Drinkable. 5.0% ABVAppearance: Pours like your typical Hazy, but this is an AOPA. Opaque, orange yet lemon yellow at the dame time, lots of bright white head on top. The head diminishes gradually but quickly enough to give it a a layered lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Definitely an oat-forward Ale, lots of oaty goodness in here, notes of lemon, leafy hops, a bit of grapefruit, orange peel, and of course a tad bit of barley/wheat graininess to it. Fairly smooth.
Taste: The oats give it a rich creaminess without needing any lactose at all. It's fairly dry, good amount of sweetness, notes of orange peel, lemon, leafy hops, grapefruit, a tad sugary. Straight forward, juicy, sweet, smooth.
Overall Thoughts: Very smooth and juicy, creamy without any lactose as far as I know.. a decent Pale Ale!
