Non-alcoholic review: Corona Cero 0.0% Alcohol-free Beer with Natural Flavour and Vitamin D

Corona Cero 0.0% Cerveza (Canada)
Thanks for everyone who first read my review of Corona Sunbrew 0.0, making it my current most read review at the moment (July 2025) - I waited a lot longer than most to review the beer but it's been a hit, so today I'm checking out Corona's newer NA beer called Cero, a 0.0% ABV beer with natural flavour and vitamin D.

What makes Cero different from Sunbrew? Welllllll.. according to Google, Sunbrew contains fortified Vitamin D while Cero doesn't. Well, for the Canadian version of Cero it actually does contain Vitamin D and looking at the ingredients, it's identical: Dealcoholized beer (barley), Sugar, Natural flavour, Vitamin D, as well as being 60 Calories per portion. Well, is it the same beer is or is it not?

Appearance: Clear, golden straw body with a nice two finger thickness of bright white foam on top. Good amount of carbonation in the body, reminiscent of your typical Mexican Cerveza. The head diminishes over a few moments with no trace of head left behind as lacing.

Aroma: If you like the classic skunkiness of Corona in bottles, you'll definitely enjoy it, but in cans you'll get a cleaner, fresher aroma and taste to it. Once I get past the skunk I get a bit of a sweet, sugary aroma - part of it being the malted barley but also the added sugar. Definite sharp hop presence but out of a bottle it's that skunkiness I told you at the beginning.

Taste: Well, this for sure tastes like a Corona to me. The skunkiness is much more tame so I taste the actual beer itself. It's a tad sweet with a sugary/almost honey-like taste to it. Notes of graininess that gives it a slight nuttiness to it. Very crisp and insanely smooth - I should hate it but it's pretty good.

Overall Thoughts: Okay, now I've compared my notes from Sunbrew and Cero and I believe that Cero in the Canadian market is just a re-branded Sunbrew. I found the bottled Cero was a tad sweeter than what I recall out of canned Sunbrew, but you do get subtle differences when it's from one format over another so.  Brewed in Labatt in London, Ontario
