Review: Container Brewing Forty Footer West Coast IPA

Wow, time sure flies by.. Container Brewing is now available in Manitoba at the Quality Beer Store. I had a fun time visiting the brewery on my last vacation before COVID hit, the brewery made only great beers from what I remember.

Today's sampling is Forty Footer West Coast IPA which tops out at 6.2% ABV

Appearance: Bright amber/orange body with no clarity to it, pretty much opaque. Good amount of carbonation in the body and a moderate off-white/beige head on top.

Aroma: Moderately bitter with notes of pine, a bit of a woodiness, grapefruit, lemon and caramel.

Taste: The bitterness is the predominant flavour in this beer - notes of pine, woodiness, lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of caramel at the end.

Overall Thoughts: Very aggressive on the bitterness, giving it off a classic American IPA. Pine, bitter, tad citrusy but not much.
